Pat Utomi Named Keynote Speaker For AfBA 2025 Annual Conference In Ghana

The African Bar Association (AfBA) is pleased to announce that Professor Patrick Okedinachi “Pat” Utomi will serve as the Keynote Speaker at its 2025 Annual Conference.

The event will take place from 19th to 23rd October 2025 at the Labadi Beach Hotel, Accra, under the theme “Foreign Interests in Africa – Exploitation or Investment.”

Professor Utomi is a renowned Nigerian political economist, management expert, and professor at Lagos Business School. He is also the founder of the Centre for Values in Leadership (CVL), a former presidential adviser, and past Chief Operating Officer of Volkswagen Nigeria. With decades of experience spanning academia, business, and governance, he has been an influential voice on development economics, leadership, and public policy in Africa.

AfBA leadership described his acceptance as a significant boost to the conference, noting that his wealth of experience and scholarship will enrich conversations on Africa’s legal and economic future.

The 2025 Annual Conference will bring together legal professionals, policymakers, academics, and stakeholders to debate the opportunities and challenges of foreign engagement on the continent.
