The Secretary, African Bar Association Women’s Forum (AfBA-WF), Chinelo Audrey Ofoegbunam has congratulated the Chairman of the Governing Council of the African Bar Association, Chief Hannibal Egbe Uwaifo, SAN, alongside other newly sworn-in Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SANs).
In a congratulatory message, Ofoegbunam praised Uwaifo, who also served as the immediate past President of the Association, describing the elevation as a landmark achievement in his distinguished legal career. She commended him and other honorees for their unwavering dedication to the practice of law and their commitment to professional excellence.
Ofoegbunam emphasized that attaining the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria represents a transition from the Outer Bar to the Inner Bar, a recognition reserved for the highest level of professional merit in the Nigerian legal profession. According to her, the elevation demonstrates the zeal, expertise, and integrity with which the new SANs have served the law.
She further urged the honorees to continue upholding the noble ideals of justice and integrity while contributing meaningfully to the growth of the Nigerian justice system. “May this esteemed honor inspire you to continue upholding the highest standards of justice, integrity and serviceto our country Nigeria,” she stated.
The AfBA-WF Secretary also extended her best wishes for the continued success, wisdom, and fulfillment of all those elevated, encouraging them to view the honor as both a recognition of past achievements and a responsibility for greater service to the legal community and the nation.
The conferment of the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria is one of the most prestigious honors in the legal profession, awarded annually to distinguished advocates who have demonstrated exceptional skill, integrity, and contribution to the development of law and justice in Nigeria.
