Session 22 of the African Bar Association (AfBA) Annual Conference will focus on the Rule of Law—one of the most critical pillars of governance and justice on the continent. This plenary session will provide a platform for participants to assess the current state of the Rule of Law in African countries.

Delegates will present and review reports highlighting policies, activities, and government actions that have either strengthened or weakened legal systems and democratic accountability. Through open discussion and analysis, participants will identify patterns and challenges, while developing collective positions to guide future advocacy and policy engagement across Africa.

Presided over by the President of the African Bar Association, High Chief Ibrahim Eddy Mark, this session aims to foster a unified continental stance on protecting the Rule of Law, ensuring that justice, accountability, and good governance remain at the heart of Africa’s legal and institutional frameworks.
