African Bar’s Committee on Taxation and Finance Law invites Tax Lawyers to webinar on new tax Acts

The Taxation and Finance Law Committee of the African Bar Association invites Tax Lawyers, Tax Practitioners, Communication Experts and Nigerians in the Diaspora to a webinar on the new Tax Act.

The webinar is scheduled for Thursday 18 December 2025, by 10a.m. on Zoom.

Theme of the webinar is “Contemporary Issues in the Taxation of Diaspora Incomes as a tool for Development”.

The session will have Mr. Oluwafemi Odusote, a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria, speak on the topic “Diaspora Income Taxation Under Nigeria’s 2025 Tax Reforms: Legal Opportunities and Development Implications.”

Also, Dr. Abdulrauf Aliyu, an economist and public finance expert, will speak on the topic “Legal and Policy Challenges in Taxing Diaspora Incomes: Lessons from Nigeria’s 2025 Reforms.”

The session will receive a goodwill message from the Chairman, Taxation and Finance Law Committee
African Bar Association, Mr. Abu Ocheme.

Meanwhile, the Project Officer, Taxation and Finance Law Committee of the African Bar Association, Akpe E. Adoh, Esq. FCTI, Anipr, has invited all tax lawyers and interested members of the public to join the webinar.
